The subject of the project is the construction of a railway junction along with the necessary technical infrastructure to improve the accessibility and transhipment capacity of the Police Sea Port by providing access to the railway network.
The investment envisages the construction of a track and road system, along with accompanying infrastructure, including a signal building, equipped with installations and devices necessary for the operation of the facility and the railway line. It is also planned to build approximately 6 km of railway tracks and approximately 2.82 km of internal roads. The scope of investment includes:
- arrival and departure group – 4 departure tracks, a track for emergency parking of trains, a holding track for locomotives,
- communication track,
- “southern” cargo group – 3 tracks,
- “northern” loading group – a track with a retaining trestle.
The project assumes that the tracks will be partially electrified depending on their function. Additionally, it is planned to build roads parallel to the railway tracks enabling access to the planned railway and technical infrastructure. Additionally, it is planned to build a signal building with social, technical and garage areas. The planned activities include carrying out a full range of construction works, including land development. The railway junction will be equipped with the necessary railway traffic control devices.
In addition to the construction of a new track system, which is defined as Task No. 1, it is also planned to implement Task No. 2, which includes the modernization of the existing rainwater pumping station, along with the replacement of the existing fire protection network. Task No. 2 is related to the construction of railway tracks and the need for their proper drainage and fire protection. In order for these installations to be efficient, the pumping station facility must be rebuilt, the power installations and external networks and installations must be rebuilt.
The total cost of the project is: 44,102,400.00 Euro.
Funding: 35,903,763.84 Euro.
Project duration: 38 months
